Dmitry Pitulko

As early as two years later he gained recognition when by being awarded the First Prize in the international music competition in Bulgaria and that paved the way for numerous solo performances with the St Petersburg Symphonic Orchestra.
The next step of his career seemed obvious: In 1998, Dmitry attended the classes of Professor V. Stopichev at the St Petersburg State Conservatory.
During the five years of his studies at this Conservatory, Dmitrj played in the viola group of the Mariinsky Theatre Symphony Orchester under conductor V. Gergiev.
He graduated in 2004 and that very year was offered to play the viola with the Atrium String Quartet founded four years before by his former fellow-students. His becoming part of the group was the beginning of the four string player’s biography. Together with his collegues Dmitry has studied in the Netherland String Quartet Academy (2006-2007) coaches by Prof. Stefan Metz, and later (2007-2009) in the “Hochschule fur Musik Hanns Eisler” in Berlin by Prof. Eberhard Feltz.
Besides having considerable experience for his age as an ensemble player, Dmitry is excelling as a soloist and also has been playing with several symphony orchestra.
